29 June: The Deputy Minister of Social Development Ms Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu in her capacity as the District Development Model champion of Amajuba, will in partnership with the MTN SA Foundation launch a multimedia centre at Charlestown Community Care in Newcastle, Amajuba District in KwaZulu-Natal Province.

The launch forms part of a longstanding Public Private Partnership (PPP) between the Department and the MTN SA Foundation.

The multimedia centre with connectivity at MTN’s cost for 24 months is a twenty seater with an electronic curriculum and an interactive board.

The Charlestown Community Care Centre provides psychosocial care and support services and skills development to orphans and vulnerable children, including child-headed households and youth.
