The Minister of Social Development, Ms. Lindiwe Zulu, will on Friday - May 13, table the DSD Portfolio Budget Vote 19 for the current financial year.

 

The budget vote, which will be delivered virtually, will outline progress made on the previous year’s Departmental commitments and budget allocations for the department and its entities - the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) and the National Development Agency (NDA), for the 2022/23 financial year.

 

It is expected that, amongst others, the Minister will present a detailed plan of service-delivery initiatives, plans, and Social Relief measures for poor and vulnerable South Africans.

 

As part of the DSD Portfolio post-budget vote engagements, the Minister will visit a National Development Agency funded projects around eThekwini before handing over vouchers to informal Pietermaritzburg traders who were affected by last year’s July riots.
