The Department of Social Development, will under the leadership of Minister Lindiwe Zulu and Deputy Minister Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu, present the virtual portfolio Budget Vote 19 to the National Council of Provinces (NCOP), on Wednesday, 09 June 2021. The NCOP is the second house of Parliament after the National Assembly.
In their presentations, both the Minister and Deputy Minister are expected to highlight budget projections for the Social Development portfolio which includes achievements for Department and its entities - SASSA and NDA.
The Budget will be presented virtually as the country is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic which impacts negatively on the lives of all South Africans including vulnerable women, children and persons with disabilities.
