The Minister of Social Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu joined by Provincial MECs of Social Development, will on Friday -11 December 2020, brief members of the media on the department’s social relief measures to mitigate the impact of COVID-19.
During the briefing, Minister Zulu together with the MEC’s, CEOs of SASSA and NDA - Ms Totsie Memela and Ms Thamo Mzobe, will give updates on the implementation of the Special COVID-19 Social Relief of Distress Grant, status on transfer of payments to Non-Profit Organisations (NPOs), food relief, update on the Early Childhood Development programme, prevention and control measures at the department’s facilities - including residential care facilities for older persons, amongst others.
