Dr Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu deputy minister of Social Development will in partnership with MTN SA Foundation host a graduation ceremony on 16 February 2024 following an outcry by young people for skills development in Mgobodzi village under the Mawewe Tribal Authority- Mpumalanga Province.

To bridge the digital divide towards the forth industrial revolution for the rural community, 20 young people will graduate after completing accredited modules in basic personal computer skills awarded at NQF level 3.

Through the longstanding partnership with the MTN SA Foundation, Dr  Bogopane-Zulu launched a fully accessible twenty-seater multimedia centre with data at MTN’s cost in Mgobodzi village in October 2022.

Given the high levels of unemployment in the country which affects the youth, the graduation will assist graduates to apply for work opportunities and advance their career development through the acquired certificates.  The training has enabled the youngsters to operate a personal computer, communicate via electronic data interchange and create professional documents and numerical and financial reports.

The graduation is in line with the National Youth Policy (2020-2030) which is a cross-sectoral policy aimed at affecting positive youth development outcomes for young people at local, provincial and national levels in the country.

The media is invited to attend and cover the graduation scheduled as follow:
