Friday, 01 June 2018
Launched in Pretoria on 27 May 2018 by the Deputy Minister of the Department of Social Development, Ms Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu, the Child Protection Week (CPW) campaign is drawing to a close.

CPW is a Government campaign led by the Department of Social Development to highlight the plight of children and to encourage South Africans to protect children. The Minister of Social Development, Ms Susan Shabangu, will close the week in Ladybrand, Free State.

The focus for this year’s CPW campaign, under the theme “Let Us Protect All Children to Move South Africa Forward”, is to raise awareness about the various forms of child abuse taking place in our communities.

The CPW campaign was initiated in 1997 to encourage South Africans to protect children from abuse, neglect, exploitation and other forms of violence and ill-treatment.

Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the closing event. Details are as follows:

Date: Sunday, 03 June 2018
